Best Summer Shirts - my 2024 favorites

A classic cotton shirt can be worn all year, some might even say the same for a cotton-linen blend. In this article, I will talk about styles that work best in the summer. By that, I mean more suitable materials, as well as shirts that look better when worn without a jacket or untucked.

Linen Shirts

Linen is probably the most common fabric choice for summer. It’s very airy, which makes it perfect for the summer months. If you want a more relaxed version of a summer suit, linen is an ideal option. There is almost no garment you couldn’t make out of linen, to be honest. It works for serious or very relaxed shirts, as well as for button-down shirts, camp collar shirts, and everything in between.

Cotton Shirts

Cotton is the most common fabric used for shirts, so some shirts from this list can be easily worn all year long. But then there is also seersucker, a more lightweight and airy cotton fabric with a very distinctive texture. A shirt made out of seersucker screams summertime!

Camp Collar Shirts

The Cuban collar, also known as a camp collar, is the most relaxed version of all shirt styles. It has an unstructured collar, fits wider, and has a lower placement of the top button, so be ready to show some chest.

Overshirts

This style is a summer substitute for a jacket. Expect an unstructured design, lighter fabric, and a looser fit.

This is my personal selection of styles that I prefer for summer and suit my style the best, so I would love to hear your thoughts and if you have any other suggestions or recommendations.
