How to wear pink in summer

In the summer, many people wear more bold and vibrant colours, but styling them can be a challenge. You can easily end up with a look where one bright item clashes with another - like a pink shirt paired with pink shoes. When too many powerful colours compete, it can overwhelm your outfit and make it look chaotic.

I’m not typically a fan of very bright shades like pink, orange or red for summer looks, but I decided to create a series and share my take on outfits using bold colors in a way that feels balanced and elegant. The key is to use one standout piece and keep the rest of your outfit simple. It’s important to choose the right shade and intensity of pink to complement your look and make a statement without being too overpowering.

Here are a few simple ways to add pink to your summer outfits in a subtle way:

A shirt

Wear a soft pink shirt. Style it with neutral pants or shorts to keep things balanced. If you want it to stand out, choose darker trousers instead of ecru or white to add contrast.

A hat

A pink cap adds colour to any lighter, neutral outfit and makes it more vibrant.

A Polo

Style it with neutral pants or shorts to keep things balanced. To make it stand out even more, choose darker trousers instead of ecru or white to add contrast.

Footwear

Wear them with muted clothes so your shoes stand out. To make them stand out even more, choose darker trousers instead of ecru or white to add contrast.

A scarf

Style it with lighter colours - neutrals or pastels. Go for a more relaxed style and fabrics like linen or cotton. A touch of pink with a scarf or bandana will add character to a simple summer outfit and can be the finishing touch to elevate the entire look.

A suit

This one is the boldest of all and it makes a strong statement. I suggest pairing it with darker colors, such as navy or even black, to create a more dramatic visual effect with the high contrast.
