Poszetka Early Spring 25 Casual Capsule Wardrobe
A few weeks ago, the guys from Poszetka showed me new pieces from their Early Spring collection, and around the same time, I was told that they would be hosting an event dedicated to vintage watches at their store in Katowice. The date of the event was almost overlapping with the release of their Early Spring collection, so I thought this was a great excuse to visit them again. When I reached out with my idea for another Capsule collection, they not only agreed but even booked a professional photographer for a proper photoshoot in their new studio space. It was a very different experience standing in front of a white background with studio lights in my face, but the whole team and their photographer, Radosław Kaźmierczak, were super helpful and guided me through the process to make the experience feel as natural as possible. I think the photos turned out well, but I’ll need to work on my facial expressions.
As the name suggests, this is the Early Spring collection, so it’s a slightly smaller selection - perfect for transitional weather. It includes essential transitional pieces and plenty of basics that can be worn most of the year. In the collection, you will find two jackets, three sport coats, one suit, one overshirt, five trousers, six shirts, and a few accessories. Take a look at the full collection here.
I wanted this capsule to be as small as possible but still very versatile. The point was to create a selection that feels natural to my personal style - mostly casual and smart casual outfits. To make this capsule really versatile, I included indigo jeans from the permanent collection called Everyday Classic and the Olive HBT Utility Shirt from the Working Class collection.
I selected three jackets (which can easily be reduced to two - more on that later), two shirts and two trousers. That’s a total of seven pieces, allowing me to create 12 versatile looks - almost two weeks of outfits with just seven items.
Olive HBT Utility Shirt
You know how much I love military jackets and overshirts, and spring and fall are the perfect seasons to wear them. On colder days, you can layer it over a sweater and when it gets warmer, just wear it with a tee or a shirt. I always say that a military overshirt is one of the most versatile pieces in a man’s wardrobe and this cotton HBT only gets better with wear. Not just in how it breaks in, but also how the color fades over time with washing and wearing.
This Olive HBT Utility Shirt is inspired by a military overshirt from the 1950s. it’s not a direct remake, but their take on it. The fit is great, as you can see in my photos - I wear a size L. It’s slightly shorter than original military shirts from the ’40s and ’50s, which probably works better with what most people wear today.
Beige Herringbone Wool/Silk/Linen Sportcoat
You should always have at least one sportcoat for smarter looks. This lighter beige herringbone version is very versatile because it works with so many colors. Pair it with chinos for a tonal look, and for more contrast, with indigo jeans. It also works well with dark brown and olive trousers, or white or ecru jeans. The fabric is very soft and shapes your body perfectly, and the jacket is unlined, so you can wear it even when it gets warmer. I usually wear size 52 in their sportcoats, but they made a mistake when preparing everything for the photoshoot, so the one I'm wearing in the photos is a size 52L. You might notice that the sleeves are a bit too long.
Navy Peached Cotton Field Jacket
The jungle jacket is a timeless piece, but because it’s a military jacket it’s mostly available in olive green and has a strong military appeal. If you make a few subtle changes - like choosing a finer fabric and changing the color to navy, this jacket transforms into a completely different garment. They also used heavier cotton to make it suitable for colder weather and added an inner pocket to make it even more practical. It feels much more subtle and sartorial. It works with jeans and a t-shirt for a casual look, or with an oxford shirt and tailored trousers for a smarter look. I wear size L.
As I mentioned above, you can easily remove one jacket from the selection. If you prefer more casual, military-inspired looks, remove the navy field jacket. If you prefer smarter looks, remove the HBT Utility shirt.
Shirts
I selected only 2 shirts because I think these two shirts can cover basically all the needs for casual and smart-casual looks. There is no jacket or trousers in the world that would not work with at least one of these two shirts. The White Flap Pocket OCBD Shirt is a more rugged, heavy-duty take on the classic OCBD – the fabric is a thick, substantial Japanese oxford. It works perfectly with more casual looks, even with workwear, but you can also dress it up without any problems. The Washed Chambray Button-Down Shirt is made from a pre-washed fabric that has been softened from deep indigo to a lighter, more summer-ready shade. It feels like your favorite workwear chambray shirt after years of wear. I wear size 41 in both shirts.
Dark Indigo Rinse Selvedge Jeans
Since the Early Spring collection only includes trousers and chinos, I had to take the Indigo Jeans from their Everyday Classic collection. They have a mid to high rise, and based on their measurements, I was sure the fit would be a bit too slim for me. But when I put them on, the fit was close to perfect. I would prefer 1-2 cm more in the front rise, but other than that, it was perfect. They told me that, after many versions, this is now the ideal fit and I agree, it’s a style that will work for most people. The 12oz Japanese selvedge denim by All Blue is also just perfect for everyday wear. I wear size 32.
Beige Chinos
This is another classic joining their Everyday Classic permanent collection. They kept the design simple, but the fit is more modern, with a mid-rise and a slight taper from the knee down. These will definitely appeal to a wider audience, but the cut is a bit too slim for my legs. I chose the Beige Chinos because of how versatile they are. You can dress them up for an Ivy-style look or wear them casually with a military overshirt and a T-shirt. This color works well with navy, olive, grey, white, and even brown. For a tonal look, you can pair them with a beige sportcoat like I did. To be completely honest, I would personally choose white jeans as a second pair of trousers for this capsule, but they were out of stock (expect a restock next month). Still, I think the Beige Chinos work great with these looks, so between the two choose the ones you prefer. I wear size 48.
Accessories
What immediately stood out to me was the light blue "Leaves" silk pocket square - the colors are beautiful and perfect for spring. But, this light blue doesn’t pair well with the chambray shirt, so I also added the "Tigers" Taguchi Tomoki pocket square.
When I saw the sausage dog on the Navy Dachshund Motif Jacquard Silk Tie, I had to include it for a smarter, Ivy-inspired look. I mean, who doesn’t love a sausage dog?!
For belts, I chose brown suede to go with denim and black leather to go with chinos. If I had to pick just one, the black leather belt would work well with both trousers.
I also picked Cream & Navy Cotton Socks because they pair perfectly with both trousers, creating contrast between the trousers and shoes for a more casual aesthetic.
Shoes
I kept it simple with shoes, choosing what I believe is the perfect combination for most of the year: brown suede loafers and black derby boots. I wore my dark brown Alden LHS loafers that day, but also used a pair of black Kleman Padror shoes. With these two pairs, you’re covered for all spring weather conditions. If I wanted to be even more selective, I could go with just one pair. In that case, I’d choose black leather since it works better with both trousers, probably a pair of black leather penny loafers.
All in all, the Poszetka Early Spring collection offers a great mix of versatile pieces that can easily be styled for both casual and smarter looks, and I was able to create a lot of relaxed and smart-casual outfits with just these seven items. Which piece caught your eye, and would you swap anything in the capsule? Let me know.
