My favourite shorts - summer 2024
I am not the biggest fan of shorts. I accept wearing them when it gets hot, but I personally try to avoid them as much as possible. In my opinion, long trousers will always look more elegant, even for very relaxed outfits.
So, when it comes to shorts, I am very picky and will basically only accept pleated shorts or chinos. I absolutely avoid anything that goes over my knees. I think shorts should sit around 2-4 inches above the knee, meaning an acceptable inseam length is around 6-9 inches (15-23 cm), though I would prefer not to go over 8 inches (20 cm) if possible. Additionally, in my case the thigh measurements should be above 34 cm and the leg opening should be 32-34 cm.
And my rule is, if you aren not sure whether you can wear shorts in specific situation, always go with trousers.
Cotton
Make sure to check the measurements to see if they are mid-rise or high-rise, as well as the width of the thigh, the leg opening, and the inseam length. All of them have belt loops except the ones from the Armoury which have side adjusters.

Linen
